As trained Sunshine Readers, we read aloud to classes of kids on a regular basis (either weekly, every other week, or monthly). Typically readers read for ½ hr in each classroom, reaching the same two classrooms back to back per visit.

Giving one hour per week makes a big difference in the lives of these children. You get to know the kids and the kids get to know you.  The consistency of the relationship is an important aspect of the program and shows the kids that they matter.

 We want kids to love reading because YOU love reading and make it so much fun.  We also give them books and “You Matter” wrist bands.
